Do you think, your students have a lot of curiosity and are tinkering a bit too much? And you have a bunch of students who have ideas and are making new things?
If the answer to both the question is YES, then congratulations! You are not alone. Almost every school that we visit, we find the same problem. They have a number of students who have been bitten by this new bug – entrepreneurship. But, what are we really doing to keep these students engaged in things they are passionate about?
Our team deliberated with educators and understood the need to create an opt-in model of programmatic learning. ThinkStartup eClub offers a unique in-class program, designed by leading entrepreneurship experts specifically for students from class 4 to 12.
This program is offered as a School Club and provides them know-how, tools and guidance to grow their passions. The ThinkStartup e-club is a school level platform, where students share new ideas, collaborate on projects, and develop innovative solutions to real-world problems. We involve them in hands-on activities and workshops, nudge them apply their knowledge, prepare them for success in a startup scenario or a future job market. The standard model of eClub runs in a school for 6 to 9 months. Students are exposed to the key concepts of innovation, design and entrepreneurship in a lucid manner. It is a opt-in program.
We have a competency based approach to teaching entrepreneurship. Our experts have categorised entrepreneurial competencies can be divided in three dimensions:
- Entrepreneurship Knowledge and Skills: This includes knowledge of designing and building products and services, branding, packaging, pricing, small scale operations, costs and sustainability.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: This includes curiosity for creativity and innovation to identify opportunities, gathering resources to build a business, taking bearable risks and managing it, persistence in the face of adversity and being ethical to win consumers trust. Students also learn to embrace challenges, view setbacks as opportunities for learning, and persevere in the face of difficulties.
- Entrepreneurial Execution and Work Ethics: This includes developing a conscious bias for getting things done, goal clarity, being resourceful, work division, team building and collaboration, active communication
The eClub follows a two pronged approach to learning. First we give exposure to concepts of creativity, design, design thinking, innovation and entrepreneurship. Thereafter, students work on individual and group action projects where they put their learning to application after each session.
The highlights of Entrepreneurship Club in Schools is following:
- Level-specific curriculum: We offer three levels, each with an age-appropriate, engaging curriculum designed to nurture entrepreneurial spirit.
- Junior (Class 4-6),
- Middle (Class 7-9), and
- Senior (Class 10-12)
- Practicum-focused learning: Our program prioritizes hands-on experience. Through workshops, projects, and challenges, students learn by doing, gaining practical skills in business planning, prototyping, and pitching.
- Mentorship from the best: Students are guided by ThinkStartup’s expert mentors, carefully chosen from industry and also have first hand entrepreneurial experience who will share their expertise and provide personalized support throughout the students journey.
- Collaborative environment: Our eClubs are a forums where students connect with like-minded peers, share ideas, and build a supportive community as they embark on their entrepreneurial adventure. Our LMS provide platform for inter-school engagement.
